Fadi is cofounder and executive chairman at Wamda and managing partner at Wamda Capital. He is deeply involved in supporting entrepreneurship in the region, holding advisory and board roles with MENA Venture Investments, Abraaj Capital, Endeavor Global, the Advisory Council of the MIT Media Lab and the American University of Beirut.
He also founded Ruwwad for Development, a regional initiative which helps disadvantaged communities overcome marginalization through activism, civic engagement, education and financial inclusion. Fadi Ghandour believes in the social responsibility of corporations. Aramex was the first company to release a sustainability report in the region. Today, Fadi calls on the private sector in the Middle East “to play an active role in nurturing healthy entrepreneurial ecosystems” and has repeatedly expressed his belief that entrepreneurship forms one of the key solutions to the region’s high youth unemployment.
